Will Brooks: Tech Ed

Will has been teaching woodworking and mechanics at South Royalton since 2006. Prior to that time he had a cabinetmaking and furniture building business in Ludlow Vermont. He currently farms beef cattle and hay in West Hartford. His father’s family is from Brooksville, Vermont and his mother’s family is from Brooklyn, NY. He is a proud graduate of Stuyvesant High School in NYC and of the University of Vermont. He has no training in woodworking or teaching but his father taught him you can learn anything from a book. Heather Cottrill: Chorus

Heather moved to Vermont with her family at the beginning of this school year. Prior to White River Valley, Heather has taught music in West Virginia, North Carolina, and New York. She graduated from SUNY Fredonia with a B.M. in Music Education and received her Master’s in Vocal Performance from West Virginia University. She loves to spend time with her husband and two teenage sons. In her spare time Heather likes to read, hike, and sing opera. She can be reached at hcottrill@wrvsu.org.

Abbey Goodrich: Art

Abbey has been teaching art in South Royalton since she graduated from college in 2015. She is a Vermont native and attended Northern Vermont University (formerly Johnson State College). Along with teaching Visual Arts courses, she is a junior class advisor, oversees production of the yearbook, and helps create sets and scenery for the school’s theater performances. Jim Hewitt: Health

Currently in his 31st year of teaching Jim started teaching at South Royalton 17 years ago after teaching at Bethel Elementary and Tunbridge School. He holds a Bachelor's degree from Springfield College and a Masters degree in Education from Southern NH University. Jim has over 25 years of coaching experience in Basketball, Soccer and Baseball and currently holds the position of chairman of the South Royalton Recreation Committee. He is a native Vermonter, growing up in Chelsea, and currently lives in South Royalton with his wife Jenny who is also a teacher,  and their dog Maggie. He has two children who both graduated from South Royalton. Jocelyn is currently finishing up her Masters degree in Speech/Language and his son Jacob is a Junior at Springfield College majoring in Athletic Training. Kate Lucia: Library Media Specialist

Kate joined White River Valley School in 2013 as the Library Media Specialist. Prior to working at WRVS, Kate was the Program Coordinator for an alternative education school. Josh Pauly: Band

A transplant from Waconia, Minnesota, Joshua Pauly attended the University of Minnesota-Morris, the Conservatório Dramático e Musical de Tatuí in Brazil, and the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, receiving degrees in music education.  He has served as the past president of the Vermont Association for Jazz Education, earned honors as the Vermont Outstanding New Music Educator of the Year, and is frequently called upon as a conductor, clinician, and trumpet performer.  He is happy to live and teach in the Upper Valley with his wife, Libby, and son Alastair. Bonna Wieler: Outdoor Education

Bonna Wieler offers learners/explorers of all ages connection with the natural world, while aiming to help folks gain self-assuredness and skills. She teaches Outdoor Education at the Bethel Middle School, and develops programming for middle through high school. As an American Canoe Association kayak instructor, Bonna teaches paddling, outfits and guides trips,  and runs summer camp sessions. She also develops environmental/ outdoor education programming for grades pre-K through high school, is a river curriculum teacher and consultant, networker/ organizer/ coordinator of environmental activities, cross country ski instructor for special events, program specialist for after school programs, and teaches fiber arts and other nature-based art forms. Tim Perreault: Driver Education
