The White River Valley Supervisory Union is seeking a responsible, detail-oriented, and dependable custodian to join our team to maintain the cleanliness, safety, and overall upkeep of our school facilities. We are hiring for a part-time position, with hours varying by location (examples include shifts from 3:00–7:00 p.m., 11:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m., or 3:00–11:00 p.m.). This position plays a vital role in supporting a clean and welcoming learning environment for students, staff, and the community. Key Responsibilities: ● Prepare school spaces for the next day by removing trash/recycling, disinfecting surfaces, tidying furniture, and restocking supplies. ● Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum floors; clean carpets and rugs. ● Sanitize and clean restrooms, showers, sinks, and locker areas. ● Wash mirrors and windows. ● Perform minor maintenance and basic repair tasks (e.g., fixing door handles, switches, minor leaks). ● Ability to lift and move furniture or equipment up to 50 lbs as needed for cleaning or event setup. ● Secure the facility after hours by locking doors, closing windows, and turning off lights. ● Assist with grounds maintenance including mowing, snow shoveling, applying insecticides, and minor landscaping. ● Participate in seasonal deep-cleaning projects such as stripping and waxing floors. ● Use industrial cleaning equipment and ensure safe use and disposal of chemicals. ● Monitor building safety and security during assigned shift, reporting any concerns promptly. ● Coordinate tasks and schedules with the head custodian or facilities manager when applicable. ● Maintain safety, cleanliness, and organization in compliance with district and state regulations. ● Follow district safety protocols and participate in mandatory training related to equipment and chemical use. ● Use basic computer tools to complete digital checklists, access training modules, or communicate with supervisors. ● Work independently and as part of a custodial team depending on the assignment. ● The ability to work flexible hours on vacations, snow days. & summer. Preferred Qualifications: ● Previous experience in custodial or janitorial work. ● Familiarity with industrial cleaning tools and materials. ● Understanding of proper chemical use and disposal. ● Basic maintenance and repair knowledge. ● Physical ability to perform the tasks required (lifting, bending, standing for long periods). ● Attention to detail, time management, and ability to work independently. ● Ability to communicate effectively, follow written and verbal instructions, and work as part of a team. ● Basic computer skills (email, online training, etc.). ● High school diploma or equivalent required. Middle School Literacy Interventionist White River Valley Middle School (Grades 6–8) White River Valley Middle School is seeking a qualified 1.0 FTE Literacy Interventionist to support students in grades 6–8 in developing the skills and confidence necessary to become strong, independent readers across all content areas. This position plays a vital role in improving student achievement in literacy through both targeted intervention and collaboration with teaching teams. Key Responsibilities: Implement small-group and individual literacy interventions for students in grades 6–8

Use diagnostic tools such as FastBridge and Track My Progress to monitor student progress and guide instruction

Medicaid Clerk

To effectively serve and assist the Director of Special Services and the WRVSU Special Education team by coordinating and performing a variety of administrative support functions related to Medicaid. To effectively administer the Supervisory Union’s Medicaid School-Based Health Services Program to generate Medicaid reimbursement for medically related services provided to eligible students. To assist in maintaining a professional, friendly, positive and respectful work atmosphere with an emphasis on teamwork and providing effective and timely direct service to the administration, staff, families and other clientele.

Qualifications: Associate’s degree in business or other appropriate discipline, plus two to three years of relevant clerical and administrative experience, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.

Experience with Medicaid or health form billing and communication with health professionals

Knowledge and/or experience in Special Education

Good basic administrative and organizational skills. Experience in organizing and maintaining moderately complex filing and records systems. Previous experience with computerized information systems is desirable.
