Outdoor Education at White River Valley Middle School includes using the school forest for campsites, while preparing students to be self-confident in the outdoors, increasing self-esteem, knowledge of safety, and how to manage themselves in the woods.  They gain experience in outdoor activities such as using tools, building campfires, cooking outdoors, learning tree identification and edible plants, knot-tying, shelter-building, sugaring, practicing first aid, and orienteering with map and compass skills.
