Andra Bowen: Elementary School Principal

Principal Bowen has been serving as a shared Elementary principal for the Bethel and South Royalton Communities since 2019.  She has been an elementary educator since 2000 and started her career teaching first grade in Bethel.  Andra shares two beautiful daughters with her husband, Jim. She is a gardener and enjoys food from her large vegetable garden.  Reading, taking walks, sitting by the firepit at camp and spending time with family are among her favorite things to do in her free time. Pierre Laflamme: Middle School Principal

Pierre began his career in education working with alternative programs through the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum. Over the past twenty-plus years, he has taught numerous subjects from Kindergarten through first year college students. While his passions are for history, the humanities and art, he moved into administration eight years ago. He graduated from Johnson State College, received his Masters Degree in Education, and pursued further graduate studies at Lyndon State College and the University of Colorado. In his spare time, he enjoys being outdoors with his family hiking, fishing, or riding on two wheels (with or without a motor). He can be reached at plaflamme@wrvsu,org.

Jeff Thomas: High School Principal

Jeff started his teaching career at South Royalton School in 1992 - 2011.  He has taught at the American Cooperative School of Tunisia, Tunbridge, Woodstock, and Hartford.  He has had many different roles from teaching Algebra, Health, Physical Education, Wellness, Athletic Director, Dean of Students, Coaching, and Independent Learning Center.  He graduated from VTC, Johnson State College, and received his Masters from SNHU.  He enjoys mountain biking, hiking, fishing, hunting, and sometimes golf.  He can be reached at jthomas@wrvsu.org.

Janet Brown: Administrative Assistant, Bethel

Janet started working at  Whitcomb Jr.-Sr. High School in 1985 and continued her position when the merger happened and the school became WRVMS. She provides support for the principal as well as helps at the Royalton campus when necessary. Kendra Cole: Administrative Assistant, Royalton

Kendra grew up here in South Royalton until she moved to Asheville, North Carolina where she got a double Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology and Sociology with a minor in Intercultural Studies. In 2017 she moved to Qingdao, China where she was teaching english until she was evacuated suddenly in 2020. Unable to return to China yet, Kendra has been working with us in various ways. Malissa Perkins: Administrative Assistant, Royalton

I’m Malissa Perkins, I reside in Bethel and will be the administrative assistant for the South Royalton campus. Last year is when I became involved in the school system. Previously I had worked as a cosmetologist for 16 years.  In my spare time I enjoy outdoor activities, art, reading, and music. I also enjoy going on adventures with my family.
