Diana (she/her) is excited to join the WRVHS team and share her passion for Family and Conservation Sciences and Health! She hails from Chapel Hill, North Carolina where she began her career as a FACS teacher before moving to the Northeast to pursue graduate work in mental health. In NC she became keenly aware of the barriers to creative expression that many of her students experience daily, thus fostering her desire to take a humanistic approach to teaching, weaving in creativity, movement, and above all community-building.
Outside of school, Diana considers herself a "functional artist" who focuses on teaching about and creating art that people use: clothing, costume, dyes, delicious meals. Here are a few of her favorite things: authenticity, Highland tweeds, the color pink, laughing at her partner's jokes, the sound of her children's footsteps as they run to greet her in the morning, and the smell of her horse's mane.
